To,
All the friends and eminent persons
associated with the padayatra
Jai Jagat.
In protest against the unjust occupation of the Sarva Seva Sangh premises (Sadhana Kendra) in Varanasi by the government and administration, demolition of heritage buildings and destruction of precious books, Gandhians and democratic groups from across the country demonstrated the 100-day Satyagraha ‘Nyay ke dweep jalayen’ under the leadership of Sarva Seva Sangh a success. This Satyagraha continued in Varanasi from 11 September 2024 to 19 December 2024. Despite this, indifference from the government continued. In this context, the next program was unanimously announced during the closing ceremony of the Satyagraha and later in the 91st Adhiveshan of the Sarva Seva Sangh. Accordingly, it has been decided to organize a peaceful
padayatra from Rajghat, Varanasi to Rajghat, Delhi from 2 October 2025, the day of Gandhi Jayanti.
Through this yatra, the common people will be informed about the illegal occupation of Rajghat Varanasi by the government and the crisis on the rule of law, possible danger before constitution and democracy. Not only this, but other issues of the public like unemployment, inflation, corruption, rights of farmers and laborers, oppression of women-dalits-tribals-minorities and environment etc. will also be highlighted. Another important objective of the padayatra is to awaken the people’s power to achieve the goal mentioned in the preamble of the Constitution of India – social, economic, political, cultural equality and justice.
Dialogue with the people will continue during the padayatra on issues related to attempts to occupy or deface historical and inspirational places such as Sabarmati Ashram, Gujarat Vidyapeeth, Sarva Seva Sangh Campus – Sadhana Kendra, Varanasi, Jallianwala Bagh, etc. and harassment of other democratic institutions.
Just as many like-minded organizations along with Sarva Seva Sangh had made a commendable contribution in making the 100-day Satyagraha successful, the There will be a permanent group of about 50 padayatries in this padayatra. Apart from this, there will be part-time padayatries as well. We hope that the local organization or well-wishers will take the responsibility of providing food, rest and night stay to these padayatries (estimated 75).
Cooperation and participation of all those organizations is desired during the upcoming padayatra as well. Along with this, we expect every kind of cooperation from artisans, litterateurs, sportspersons, farmers, laborers, women, students and the people of the village/ towns/ locality.
Local organisers are requested to keep the interested persons who would like to participate as short-term padayatries ready in advance so that the padayatra can be started at the specified time in the morning.
